Jasmine is a Design Engineer studying cs and neuroscience at uci. Building in defense tech, engineering new human-computer interfaces, and flying to deep tech conferences on the side.
Spent 95% of my childhood playing Minecraft instead of homework. No regrets — learned how to build from scratch with limited resources and iterate fast.
Fed my desire to pave my own path rather than having it handed to me.
In sophomore year of high school, I opened a clothing business on Roblox, designing 60 assets myself on the chromebooks my High School gave everyone during COVID.
Ended up selling 2,000 assets in 4 months. Getting rich off Robux inspired me to bring my fashion ideas further...
Became fascinated in
military tactics
after taking AP Euro with Mr.Baratti, who taught me the
importance of pursuing what I love instead of chasing
grades. He also has an insane artifact collection!
Inspired me to enter defense engineering and aerospace
:)
Loved designing on Roblox so much - decided to open an IRL clothing business inspired by my passion for Dark Fantasy / Booktok Novels. Sold to 40 states and 10 countries.
Stepped out of my comfort zone into
Robotics, even with no technical skills at that time. School
disbanded our first team, so I decided to build a
new team
and led as the Business + Design Lead.
Won 1st Place Design Award 2x out of 1,000 national
participants.
First taste of startup culture at my High School's Startup Incubator. Designed and built our E-commerce platform from scratch and first time using Figma.
Gained some confidence to enter Product after winning 1st Place nationally in Product Design at Trade Show out of 40+ teams.
Landed first design intenrship at a mediterranean startup scaling to a B2B subsidiary. Built their entire branding from scratch for company launch.
Felt like the odd one out throughout highschool (no one in uiux). Finally found my tribe in university and decided to go all-in on design.
Hosted 22 workshops to 500+ people and judged at 3 competition events.
Tried my hand at using design for Social Good by applying to the largest Student-led Pro Bono Org in the U.S. Led User Experience Strategy and Research for an NPO.
Didn't think I was competitive, then started going to Hackathons and became hooked. Drove / Flew to a Hackathon every week of Freshman Year.
Recognized by Intel, Google, Meta, etc. and winning $70,000 in prizes.
Took one small step out of my comfort zone and one giant leap into aerospace and defense engineering by joining a NASA Research Program.
Wrote a 244 page research paper and designed mission control software for a lunar rover.
Won Grand Prize at Berkeley AI Hackathon ($50,000) and accepted into the SkyDeck Incubator Program (1% acceptance rate). Building an emergency management system with dispatch centers.
Now working in HCI Research for Space Exploration and Human Factors Engineering for Astronauts on the moon. Flying to NASA JSC to test flight suits in 2025!
